Problems of HIV/AIDS, news in Uzbekistan and in the world
December 1, 1999 is a date of signing of the draft project on “Promotion of a multisectoral effective response to drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and STD in Uzbekistan”. That Project was developed after evaluation of situation with HIV/AIDS in Tashkent conducted in order to take timely preventive measures on the problems of HIV/AIDS, drug use and sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Project was initiated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National AIDS Center was assigned as Project’s executive body, funding of the Project on the first stage was done by UNDP, UNAIDS, UNFPA and Soros Foundation. |
