| Founded in 1994, the Tashkent International School is an independent day school. It offers classes in grades K-12 to students who can benefit from the programs the school offers. The focus of the secondary school curriculum is to prepare students for college. All curriculum is American based. There are 150 students currently attending T.I.S. The school year has two semesters, starting in late August and ending in early June with breaks dispersed throughout the year. All classes are taught in English, with the exception of the foreign language classes. There are a variety of after school activities including basketball, art, taekwondo, and ballet. There is an active student council for the upper grades that raises money for events of interest to the students. |
